Pick a Box January 2012

Jewellery boxes, trinket boxes, heart boxes, favourite toys, cars, pencils – they pick the box and paint it!

Nurture your child’s creativity and let us give you a break for two hours.

We will teach them how to paint boxes with acrylics on ceramics and keep them occupied!

Workshops are $45 each which includes all art materials.

Everyone gets to take home their own masterpiece.

Team Building At The Studio

We were very lucky to have 20 members of the Priority Planners team painting in our studio.
They came to the studio after enjoying a wonderful lunch; as the company develops their team culture with interesting activities and experiences. The studio provided the company with an opportunity to build friendships and interact with each other. They also learnt how to paint on ceramics, which for all of them was a new skill in a fun environment.

We provided them with a ceramic tray and a pattern. They were given step-by-step instructions, paints and tools. The team learnt to trace, sgraffito, paint on ceramics, and learnt other techniques to finish the product.

Kids Holiday Fun at Roundabout Ceramics

Over the July holidays, I will be holding kids classes for children from 5 years upwards

I will be teaching kids how to paint on ceramics, how to use colours and certain techniques as well as encouraging children to help raise funds for the Sydney Children's Hospital.

Will be a lot of fun for kids, will teach them how to harness their creative skills.

About your teacher Ann has a long career in crafts and ceramics, starting in America in 1973.
She has studied with and used techniques of other master ceramic painters and teachers, and is skilled in many crafts. Her unique ceramic style has evolved from these experiences.

Using brilliant colours and innovative designs her work now adorns many rooms and offices in Sydney and New Zealand. Ann has been commissioned to create specific designs to match surrounding décor.

From her studio in Vaucluse Ann teaches and Paints, and sells her work. Her innovative and creative skills are further displayed in teaching both decoupage and ceramics, interposing the different styles together with the painting on ceramic.

Mosaic Workshop Saturday 14 May

I will be showing you how to work with mosaics.

Join us on Saturday 14 May for a mosaic workshop.

Mosaics make the perfect addition to your own home or a great house warming gift.

Your workshop will begin with an introduction to mosaics and an introduction to the tools and equipment you will be using.

We will be doing a frame on a wooden base. The size will be 30 by 40 cm and you take home the completed article at the end of the day.

Cost: $165, this includes all materials.

Time: 9:30am - 3:30pm

Mosaics

When I was in South Africa, I saw beautiful mosaics and did a wonderful workshop.

I loved the detail and the work that goes into a mosaic project. I enjoy the detail of fitting pieces onto a wooden frame or ceramic pot and creating designs.

The result is stunning.

Working with colourful tiles and pieces and putting it all together, made me want to return home and start workshops. I will be showing you how to work with mosaics and make interesting projects.

Keep your eyes open for our first mosaics workshop.

The studio will only be open on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from the 16th until the 28th March.

Normal classes will resume on the 29th March 2011.

We will be holding a Pesach event in April and will keep you posted.
